LOST PROJECT – UNTER FREMDEN STERNEN is my first Novel. I published the first part of the Paleo-Science-Fiction-Trilogy as illustrated Paperback in German Language in November 2018 on FLYING CHEESE .
In
LOST PROJECT – APPALACHIA is the second part of my Paleo-Science-Fiction-Trilogy which I released in German Language on FLYING CHEESE as illustrated Paperback in November 2018.
stammen ebenfalls vom Autor.
„House In The Fields“ is a song by METAMORPHER from their 2018 EP „Becoming“ (Timezone Records). For the music video I did several full colored drawings which should catch the mood and content of the song. I decided to create a late Victorian setting in which a mysterious disease despatched the residents of a country house.
This is a Comic Project I did from 24.06.2017 to 12.07.2017. It was originally thought to be a 24-Hour Comic. As I didn’t get it finished within the time, I made all the remaining sides in tiny nightshifts between my ordinary family life. Print version is available via FLYING CHEESE.
Briefing The company needed a short comic that shows their products and services in an entertaining way.
What the client wanted from me The client wanted a distinct visualisation from their competitors.
What I wanted from the client The client gave me full control over storytelling and creation.
Realization After I outlined the story and got client feedback, I did a storyboard, which visualised every determined panel. With some minor changes detected in another feedback round, I realized the full comic with digital pens in PhotoShop and lettered it afterwards in Indesign.
Conclusion Through the well structured process of creation and transparent communication, I had fun doing this small project. It was always clear, what to do next. I’m always looking for great companies to work with!
Briefing Joscha needed a shirt design for his Winter 2017 UK-Tour. He wanted to visualize the fermata / bird’s eye.
What the client wanted from me Joscha wanted a near term artwork to a fair price. What I wanted from the client I appreciated to have the possibility to experiment with and develop my quick drawing style.
Realization First I did a quick sketch. Basing on this I made the final work with PhotoShop and sent the result to Joscha, who gave it to the screen printer immediately.
Conclusion I love to do last minute work, if it’s feasible. Helping clients with a high quality illustration gives me great satisfaction. I’m always looking for great bands to work with!
Briefing The company wanted an animated christmas card for their distributors and customers. The client decided to make it different than the year before, where a story based card with a flying Santa was used.
What the client wanted from me The client wanted the whole design. The whole thing should happen last-minute.
What I wanted from the client The company assigned the whole art direction to me.
Realization The company has many international clients and distributors, so I decided to create a simple winter landscape without any christmas figures. They determined the size of the movie and made the score available. First I did a storyboard and sometestimages to determine the style. I chose to fully digital which gave me the advantage to have all drawn components animation-ready. With the help of a technichal editor of the company who has pretty good knowledge in After Effects we build the scene with the rough animation. First I planned to use drawn snowflakes but they were to heavy and so I used the particle system. After that I did the fine tuning with the colors and editing. After some inputs and adjustments from the company which touched the message in the end of the movie and the animation speedad the animated christmas card was finished.
Conclusion The client gave me full freedom with the creation which was a lot of fun to me. And the company got the movie by the deadline. I always look out for working with companies.
Briefing The Band needed a cover illustration for their EP „Für Dich Kein Hansa Mehr“ (Hansa is a low-cost German Beer Brand). Small Bands usually have very small budgets for realizing their stuff. So, if they decide to not do things DIY, they plan to get something valuable for spending little money.
What the client wanted from me The client wanted a short dated „good“ artwork to a fair price. What I wanted from the client The client had to give me full control over the complete art direction and execution.
Realization I found a postcard from the painter P. S. Krøyer from the 19th Century on which a party raised their glasses. The motif from a mother with her daughter was pretty suitable for the title of the record. I did the picture as a very own interpretation. I drew directly with biro pen on paper, without any corrections or sketches. Subsequently i added a digital texture, typography and the logotype, which the Band provided to me.
Conclusion Because of the direct way of working the picture benfits with loose lines and a spontaneous look and I was able to give the Band a short dated and fair priced illustration. I’m always looking for great Bands to work with!
